One Bread, One Body
Message from Bishop Libasci
"By consolidating many Catholic collections, appeals, and causes into this one appeal effort, we move forward together as one Church, one body in Christ." Read Bishop Libasci's Message: A New Vision for the Church in New Hampshire
Caring for the Poor and Vulnerable
The NHCA helps Catholic Charities NH (CCNH) respond to an increasing amount of individual requests for assistance. These requests, often for basic needs like fuel, gas, or electricity come in to their Community Services program that has local offices all over the state. Enabling families to keep their homes heated, preventing electricity shut-offs, and keeping roofs over children’s heads is a core tenet of our Catholic faith.*
*It is important to note that the NHCA only funds the Community Services program at CCNH which is one out of ten of their core social services programs. Our Place, Liberty House, New Generation, Mental Health Counseling Services, among others, are supported through appeals conducted by CCNH throughout the year. That is why you will continue to hear from CCNH via direct mail, online campaigns, special events, and more.
Proclaiming the Gospel and Sharing the Faith
The NHCA helps guarantee our faith is shared and celebrated amongst our multicultural Catholic population and our missionaries abroad. It also significantly supports the passing on of the Catholic faith through enhancing Catholic education and supporting youth and young adult ministries such as Totus Tuus and campus ministry efforts. Further, the NHCA assists in evangelization and catechetical efforts especially in support of our national award-winning Catholic magazine, Parable.
Parish Support
Through the NHCA, parishes who are experiencing financial difficulties can receive aid to support essential services at the parish such as staffing, fuel, or maintenance. This enables even the parishes in the far reaches of the state to stay open and accessible to all the Catholic faithful – no matter how disparate. Additionally, 46 parishes raised more than their allocated NHCA goal for 2023 and received income to utilize for cemetery upkeep, parish hall renovations, and more. Parishes and parish life is at the center of our faith practice.

Supporting Retired Clergy and Forming Future Priests
Our retired priests are living through difficult times with the rising costs of housing, health care, and the challenges of modern society. The NHCA keeps our retired priests comfortable by funding necessary livelihood essentials like health care and income stipends. Our retired clergy have given their lives in service to our Diocese and caring for them in this stage of life is critical.
Empowering Our Faith
A gift to the 2024 NHCA will enable the Catholic Church in New Hampshire to meet the increasing needs of our communities, parishes, seminarians, retired priests, Catholic schools and so much more. These ministries ensure our faith can continue for generations to come so that we have priests in vibrant parishes, children learning and engaging in their faith in updated facilities, and families reading and sharing faith stories at home – all practices you can help support.
Many of these needs and ministries were previously funded through numerous second collections. Those second collections have been consolidated into the NHCA.
